Popular circular hike in the Franconian Switzerland Nature Park near Neuhaus an der Pegnitz. From the Grottenhof (refreshment stops), it goes over the summit of the Weissingkuppe to the "Schöne Aussicht" lookout point. The hiking trail then leads through the forest to the Schlierau chapel and back to the starting point via the cave path. --- Accessible by bus and train

This strenuous, sometimes very steep path leads to over 30 natural caves (8 dwelling caves, 3 stalactite caves). Good hiking gear and torch required. The path leads past the "Petrus" rock tower. A visit to "Heaven" is worthwhile here. Note bat protection time: From October 1st to March 31st, some caves are not accessible.
