This trail is located in the Dungeness Recreation Area in Sequim, Washington. The first leg of the loop is through flat terrain (not paved) in the forest, ending at the overlook for the Dungeness Spit. From here you can see great views of the spit, the functioning lighthouse, Mt. Baker, Canada, the Strait of Juan De Fuca, and many more mountains. This hike is through an undeveloped section of Miller Peninsula State Park. It is a relatively undeveloped trail with no official trailhead and few markings. The solitude and beautiful scenery are worth it. Access is near Diamond Point on the Miller Peninsula between Discovery Bay and Sequim Bay on the Olympic Peninsula. The trail used to continue past the marked route on the map. You will come across signs telling you not to continue. It is washed out, down a ravine with a washed out bridge, and very dangerous. Do not cross sign indicating the end of the trail. This trail provides beautiful views of the river and surrounding mountain landscape.
