For walks, Quarry Park and the River Severn are a stone's throw away, and the hotel points guests to Carding Mill Valley and Haughmond Hill in the Shropshire Hills. This suits an owner who wants a comfortable town base with good walking and is happy for the dog to stay in the room or garden. Anyone wanting the dog beside them at the bar should look elsewhere.
