Fairmont Monte Carlo Dog Friendly Review

Fairmont Monte Carlo is not certified. Assessed against the Roch Dog Friendly Standard, it missed one of our minimum requirements: it does not provide dogs with food and water bowls. That caps the rank at F.

Fairmont Monte Carlo offers a genuinely welcoming setup for dog owners, with dogs allowed in the bar, restaurant, lounge and on the terrace, so there's no need to leave your dog behind at mealtimes or drinks. Most rooms are dog friendly, with no weight or size limit, and cats are also accommodated, which suggests a broadly relaxed approach to animal guests. Practical touches include dog food for sale, dog toys and a dog-sitting service, while green spaces and parks nearby offer options for a walk, and up to two dogs per room can be accommodated together.

Set against this, there are notable gaps. A refundable damage deposit of €200 per night is charged, which is a significant outlay for dog owners to factor in. There is no garden or dedicated dog space on site, and no dog wash or shower area for cleaning up after outings. The hotel does not provide a dog bed, nor real food and water bowls, so owners will need to bring their own basics. There's no dog-walking service or guidance on walking routes, and poop bags are not supplied. Dogs are also not permitted to be left alone in the room, which limits flexibility for owners wanting to dine or explore without their dog in tow.
