Fairmont Olympic Hotel benefits from green spaces and parks nearby, giving dog owners somewhere to walk and exercise their pets during a stay. In the room itself, dogs are given a proper bed along with real food and water bowls, a nice touch that shows some thought has gone into their comfort. There is no weight or size limit on dogs staying at the hotel, and no damage deposit is required, which removes a couple of common barriers for owners travelling with larger breeds.

A dog fee of $75.00 USD per stay applies, and only some rooms at the hotel are set aside for dogs, so availability is limited rather than hotel-wide. Dogs are not welcome in the bar, restaurant, terrace or lounge, which shuts out guests from bringing their dog into any of the hotel's social or dining spaces. There is no garden or dedicated dog space on site, and no dog wash or shower area either. Owners will find no dog-walking or dog-sitting service on offer, and dogs may not be left alone in the room, which limits flexibility considerably. Basics such as poop bags, dog food for sale and free treats are also absent, leaving owners to bring everything themselves.
