The Marker
San Francisco, California, United States · 5 Star Hotel
The Marker Dog Friendly Review
The Marker holds an acceptable C Roch Rank, a fair grade for a San Francisco hotel that looks after a dog well in the room if not much beyond it. Dogs are welcome in most rooms, within a fifty-pound size limit, for a two hundred and fifty dollar stay fee. Your dog is welcome in the lounge, and the parks and green spaces of the city sit close by for walks. In downtown San Francisco it is a polished, dog-aware base for a medium dog.
The room comes with a dog bed, bowls and a treat, and unusually the hotel sells dog food on site, so a short stay needs little packed for the dog. The lounge is open to dogs, and the team points you to the nearby parks for the mornings and evenings. It does not run a walking service, but the in-room provision and food on hand cover the essentials for a stay of a few days in the city.
Dogs are not welcome in the bar, restaurant or on a terrace, so dining together is limited to the room, and the two hundred and fifty dollar stay fee is on the high side for what is offered. Against food on site and a full in-room welcome, it is still a workable choice for a city break. The Marker suits a medium, settled dog and an owner who wants a downtown base and is content to keep the dog to the room and lounge.
