Generally, this is one of the nicer sections to see Chicago architectures along the river, lake, and marinas. The trail tends to get crowded during weekends, evenings, and nights especially in the summer and fall. There are plenty of access points along the route, and even a few beaches. There is a metro track above the walk to the west side, so it can get quite noisy towards that side.

This park celebrates families as well as the turn of the 21st century The 21st century dawned four years late in Chicago.
