The King Post Dog Friendly Review

The King Post is not certified. Assessed against the Roch Dog Friendly Standard, it missed one of our minimum requirements: dogs are not provided with food and water bowls. That caps the rank at F.

Most rooms welcome dogs, and dogs are welcome in the bar, the restaurant, the lounge, the terrace and the garden, so you are not shut away at mealtimes. There is no weight limit, so a big dog is treated the same as a small one, dogs can be left alone in the room, which gives you the freedom to head out for dinner, and dogs stay free. Green spaces and parks are close by, with staff on hand to point you to the good walks.

No dog bed, treats, toys or poo bags are provided, there is no dog walking or sitting service, and staff have not had formal training for canine guests. Bring your own bowls and your dog will be well looked after here, and certification needs only that gap closed.
