Park Hyatt Zurich holds an acceptable C Roch Rank, and on the ground it is a generous city hotel for a dog. Every room category takes dogs, there is no weight or size limit, and your dog is welcome in the bar, the lounge and on the terrace, as long as it stays under control and considerate of other guests. Dogs can join you in the restaurant too, in a set area kept for them, so dinner does not mean leaving anyone behind. And if you would rather eat alone, you may leave your dog in the room while you dine.
In the room you will find a dog bed and food and water bowls, and dog food and treats are on hand, with the food included in the nightly fee. That fee is CHF 45 per night, with no damage deposit, and one dog per room is allowed. For walks, the lakeside promenade on Lake Zurich is close by, with lawns and green spaces the team will happily point you towards, and the concierge can organise a dog sitter or book a dog groomer for you.
What is missing is the practical back-up. There is no garden or dedicated dog space at the hotel, no dog wash, no dog walking service, no poop bags or toys, and no emergency vet number on file, so pack bags and know where the nearest vet is. Staff have not had specific canine training. This is a fine choice for an owner with one dog of any size who wants it at the table and at the bar in the heart of Zurich; owners travelling with two dogs, or who rely on the hotel to walk the dog, should look elsewhere.
