The trail begins in Gasenried in the center and then leads through the forest along unpaved paths into nature. It passes the Ritigrabe area and then hikes through the Grächerwald forest until it finally reaches Grächen. This trail is suitable for the whole family. This trail can be a bit muddy after a few bad weather days.

This route is that of the Gornergrat Zermatt Marathon. This marathon is one of the most beautiful in the Alps. If you want, you can also extend the route to the Gornergrat. The trail begins in St.Niklaus at the train station and then one directly comes into the village forest. After that it goes through the landscape and on and on through beautiful forest areas. After about seven kilometers the path passes Hebriggen and one then hikes up to the Europahütte hut at 2220m. There are some great views of the surrounding glaciers in the distance. The Ultra Tour Monte Rosa race takes place every year in September. The runners have the choice between 3 races. Either the complete lap in one go or in 4 stages and a 100km race. Wonderful region and course.
