A real hidden gem in the midst of the concrete jungle. The Sterkfontein Heritage Trail is an easy trail which is perfect for adults and kids alike. The hike passes a waterfall around the midway mark which serves as a perfect spot to have a quick dip to cool down. The route is well marked and the view from the top of the hill across the valley below is stunning. The trail is exposed to the sun in many areas so a hat, lots of water and sun screen is essential.

Hobby Park allows various hobbies such as 4x4 Trials and Training, Paint ball, Hiking, Cycling, Birding, Archery, Para-sailing, Golf, Fishing, Photography, Orientation and Picnic's. They are surrounded by beautiful Protea trees and breath taking scenery and are situated opposite the Noordheuwel shopping centre at the corner of Robert Broom and Lud Hirsch Street.

This is a good trail for beginners with lots of doable fast sections and Suikerbos all around as well as not much shade, and a great view back towards Sandton from ridge line. The trails here are vast and moderately challenging. The draadkameel restaurant provides a nice venue to relax afterwards.
