The reserve is open every day from 6 am – 6 pm and can be accessed via either the main entrance at 138 Holkam Road or via the FreeMe entrance just a little further down the road. Entrance is free, but please note that no dogs are allowed in the reserve. There is a short and relatively easy walking trail in the reserve – suitable for kids – which takes visitors to the top of the ridge with great views of Sandton.

There is a one-time fee or membership fee to enter this bike park. There are several different trails for different skill levels and activities. The activities available at at this park are mountain biking, trail running, trails for children. There are lessons available as well. This is a great place to improve on your technical abilities. Safe to cycle ladies only. Also good entertainment for kids. Food and drinks also available.

The Lonehill Koppie is beautiful – it stands out as a lone koppie (small hill) in the middle of suburbia, some 28 kilometres north of the city centre, and is a reminder of what Johannesburg used to look like before it was settled: rocky veld with small streams trickling through it, dotted with shrubs, small trees and knee-high grasses. The Jukskei River is one of the largest rivers in Johannesburg, South Africa. It is the southernmost river in the Crocodile River basin. It's a powerhouse for commerce and development, however green spaces such as the ones in Lonehill enable people to find the balance they need and deserve to ensure a healthy lifestyle.

Witkoppen is a suburb of Johannesburg. This urban park is a great outdoor environment for some exercise and easy walks or jogs with your kids or furry friends. The park is centred around a lake and has some trees for shade. Picnics are also a family favorite here. Please pick up your litter and pick up after your pooch to keep this park clean for all to enjoy.
