It's a canine paradise where your pup can frolic in the waves to their heart's content. The Ter River, which runs through the city, offers plenty of spots for your dog to enjoy a quick dip, and it can be walked for a couple of miles along the river through the city. Dog Friendly Parks in Girona
There are some great dog friendly parks in Girona, lets start of with my personal favorite the Jardins de la Muralla, or gardens of the wall in English. I like this park because it has a large green space, and the local dog walkers let their dogs off leash in the evenings, it also has a little kiosk bar so you can sit and have a beer while your dog plays. Devesa Park is the city's green lung, home to over 2,500 plane trees, some of which are over 165 years old. This extensive park, covering more than 40 hectares, is perfect for a leisurely stroll with your canine companion.
For a dose of history during your walk, explore the city's ancient walls. The Passeig de la Muralla offers an elevated pathway with magnificent views over the city. Dogs are allowed but must be kept on a leash. The hills surrounding Girona offer ample hiking opportunities. The Gavarres are a natural park covered in lush forest, providing plenty of space for you and your dog to explore.

In the heart of Girona's Old Town, Konig Sandwiches is a great spot for a casual meal. Dogs are allowed on the outdoor terrace, and water bowls are provided. For a taste of local Catalan cuisine, head to Llevataps. This charming restaurant offers a pet-friendly terrace, allowing you to savour the flavours of Catalonia while your furry friend lounges by your side.
If you are a meat eater, head up to Tomàquet which is a locals steak restaurant that you will not usually find in the local city guides, its on the outskirts of Girona but worth the trip if you have a dog.
