There's a sharp uphill hike in the beginning. Once you pass that, it's combination of mild uphill and downhill. In few areas, the trail passes through neighborhood and crosses the streets. At the vista point (Nob Hill), there are trails that go to Masie's Peak and can connect you to Steven's Canyon trail.

The Lookout Trail is moderately steep and leads to Lookout Point and a great view of the Santa Clara Valley. The Redwood Trail is also moderately steep in places. There are hundreds of young redwoods, ferns, trillium, and huckleberry. The Orchard Trail is the most exposed to the sun along the Northern perimeter of the park. The trails can get crowded on the lower slops on the weekends. There is parking in a paved lot as well as bathrooms at the trailhead in lot 4.

This is a short but beautiful hike through a Eucalyptus forest to a beautiful lookout. There are signs located along the entire trail that have positive affirmation quotes on them. There are also an art center, theatre, and garden in the area. This route is shaded for most of the way, and is often crowded, especially on weekends.
