This route offers hikers, snowshoers, cross-country skiers and horseback riders some of the best scenery and views in the state. Starting out in the north of Frisco just west of interstate 70, the trail is pretty much straight uphill all the way, so be ready for some truly grueling elevation gain over a relatively short distance.

This is a really fun day hike. When hiked as mapped here, you'll start out at the trailhead at the southwest end of Meadow Creek Trail road, next to highway 70. The first half of the hike is a long and steady incline, sure to get the heart pumping and the legs burning. From the top, the turnaround point marked here, you'll be rewarded with some gorgeous meadow views.

This is an amazing trail which can be fun no matter what time of year you're planning to visit. In the winter, you can bring the family to go snowshoeing, and when the snow melts, you can hike up to the top of Mount Royal, gain a thousand feet or so in elevation, and enjoy some gorgeous mountain meadow views along the way.
