The trail goes through Gatklettur, which is famous for the natural rock formation. Enjoy the of the Snaefellsnes peninsula and the Snæfellsjökull glacier.

Rauðfeldsgjá is a beautiful gorge in Botnsfjall Mountain on the Snæfellsnes Peninsula. It's a deep, high and narrow ravine. You can walk up to and climb inside but only during the summer time. Rauðfeldsgjá means Red-Cloak Rift. It has a dramatic story and a family tragedy. There is a car park just by Rauðfelsdsgjá and the hiking path is just a short walk away from the narrow opening.

The Lóndrangar basalt cliffs are located in the Snaefellsnes peninsula and are amongst the many geological wonders. It's also called the rocky castle with one cliff that is 75 Meters high and another at 61 Meters. The basalt cliff are accessible from both ends but we recommand to start from the visitor's center.

Djúpalónssandur is a sandy beach and bay on foot of Snæfellsjökull. It's also called Djúpalónssandur or the Black Lava Pearl Beach. You will find 4 differently sized stones. . You reach the beach by walking down the Nautastígur trail and they are two freshwater lagos called Djúpulón . Then you will see the spectacular rock Gatklettur. Aflraunasteinar is also located on its trail. They are famous lifting stones to measure the strength.

This is one of the most amazing areas in Iceland. The Snæfellsjökull is a stratovolcano from mounted on a glacial cap that culminates at 1,446 meters above sea level. It is located at the western end of the peninsula of Snæfellsnes. You nwill eed to have all the glacier equipement with you because there are some crevasses. Perfect for ski-touring in the winter time.
