Start by heading to Markum Woods, take a left, and enter the state park trail on the right. This trail is marked by an open gate and a sign marking the park boundary.

This is a beautiful out and back double-track dirt road through the Wekiva river basin. It is fully shaded but humid and can be muddy and buggy depending on the season. No facilities, but starts in a neighborhood at the end of a street with a small parking lot. Please turn around where the mapped route ends, as past there is private property. This trail is intended to be multi-use and is shared by horseback riders, mountain bikers, and hikers. The majority of this route travels along a sandy trail, which passes by dunes and through scenic flatland ecosystems. The trail can become muddy during wet conditions and waterproof shoes are recommended.

This is the perfect path for biking, skating, walking, or running. There are often many people out on this path, especially during the weekend. It is a well-maintained path and has interesting historical markets along the way. There are patches of shade along the way which is a relief during the hot Florida summers.
