This is a paved multi-use trail enjoyed by walkers, runners, cyclists, and roller bladers spanning the entire circumference of the lake, although a small portion of the north side is on a residential street. Although the main trail is paved, since there are multiple sections where the grade is very steep (estimated above 12%), this trail is not marked as wheelchair or stroller friendly, although smaller sections of it may be.

Conveniently located in the community of Heritage Valley in Edmonton, this nice and twisty trail follows Blackmud Creek. The trail starts along a paved pathway for the first 3 kilometres followed by a well-worn path. There are lots of side trails with views of the creek. This trail can get muddy and icy so good waterproof shoes are recommended along with spikes during cold weather. There is Interesting informational signage about wildlife & about the creek.

Conveniently located in the town of Devon, this trail loops around the Devon Golf Course. The trailhead is located at the end of Saskatchewan Avenue East. From here, follow the riverside trail in the clockwise direction. The trail is well-maintained along a wide packed dirt pathway with beautiful tree canopy and views of the North Saskatchewan River. There is a good mix of elevation on this trail to get a good workout in. This trail can be extended via the connecting trails.
