This is a great option for a family walk on a free morning or afternoon. It can also be a great outdoor option for people that are wanting to get into trail running! Although there is not much shade along the trail, you will get some cool valley views towards the end! Just be sure to bring sun protection and plenty of water.
Activities
Features
The first part of the trail is quite exposed to the sun but after you hit the Plymouth Creek Trail it cools down and gets shady for the most part. That section of the trail is also quite steep with some large boulders in sections making running less achievable there, but the Red Mesa Loop had some rolling hills and provided some nice sections for jogging.

Features
This little trail packs an amazing amount of scenery into the hiking experience. Hikers won't be put through a brutal workout, but will still be treated to some amazing views of the surrounding areas, regardless. Depending on the season, you can spot wildlife and wildflowers out here. There are facilities at the trailhead, as well.

Please be respectful of property owners in the surrounding area and only enter this trail from the main trailhead off Grizzly Drive. This area also contains sensitive habitats and is subject to seasonal closures during muddy conditions from rain, so it's always a good idea to check ahead with the Deer Creek Canyon Park service before visiting.
