This trail is very kid friendly, and makes for a great destination for a family outing. $5 parking unless you choose to park across the road. From the parking area, it's a very short walk to the trail. There are lots of flowers and the view is beautiful, however there is little to no shade. The trail is pretty and easy to follow, but you can see the highway during most of it, so it's not a typical "hike" in that sense.
