Sneath Lane Trail is the easiest hiking and biking grade up to the crest of Sweeney Ridge. From the ridgetop go south to visit the Portola Discovery Site, or north to the former Radar Control Site for Nike Site SF-51. Nike ground-to-air missile sites protected American Cities from the Soviet Bomber threat during the Cold War from 1955-1974.

This is a nice trek along Mori Ridge and then down to the coast and looping back up to the Ridge. Awesome views. Some folks may find this to be a bit more on the moderate side of difficult. Be sure to use the underground pedestrian walkway when crossing the highway. You can choose to do this hike counterclockwise, as shown, which makes the descent from Sweeney Ridge shorter, but be aware that the downhill portion may have loose, rocky ground. This hike connects to the Sweeney Ridge which offers excellent views of the Pacific Ocean. This area can often have lots of coastal fog, be prepared for all situations. The Mori Ridge trail climbs steadily up through over 1,000 feet of height - some of which is steep enough to make a regular walking gait difficult, and only the most kamikaze trail runner would attempt.
