Sneath Lane Trail is the easiest hiking and biking grade up to the crest of Sweeney Ridge. From the ridgetop go south to visit the Portola Discovery Site, or north to the former Radar Control Site for Nike Site SF-51. Nike ground-to-air missile sites protected American Cities from the Soviet Bomber threat during the Cold War from 1955-1974.

This route offers beautiful views of the Linda Mar area, and enough incline to get your heart pumping. If going counter-clockwise, near the end you'll find a turn off to Brook Falls. Please note that sometimes during drier months the waterfall does not flow. The route on this page forms a loop with the Montara Mountain Trail.

North Peak via Montara Mountain Trail is a popular hike just outside of Pacifica in San Pedro Valley County Park. There is a parking lot at the trailhead along with bathrooms. This partly shaded route is well-maintained and easy to navigate. Follow Montara Mountain Trail to North Peak Access Road and then return on Brooks Creek Trail and Old Trout Farm Loop Trail once you descend.
