There is a section of this route that does not allow dogs, however, the majority of this trail is accessible to dogs. This is one of the best parks for birding in the area, especially during migration. The trails here highlight the places that are good to check while birding the area, including a short trip to a nearby lake. This wide and paved trail connects the communities of Kewanee starting from the town park and traveling along Howell Canal. This pathway serves as both recreational opportunities for the community as well as a way to commute to the nearby area. There are restrooms and a playground located at the trailhead.
