This is the longest loop in the park which travels mostly along Palmetto Passage. During stretches of a lot of rainfall, the trails may be closed due to flooding. Please consult the park before heading out. For those wishing to extend their hike, there are other trail connections in the park to add distance.

The trailhead is located at a gate near the end of the campground. The majority of this hike is along a sandy trail, which passes by dunes and through flatland ecosystems. The elevation profile features many small hills which is a rare exception to the area. There are many opportunities to view wildlife and local flowers along the way.

There are some sandy areas on the trail and users recommend downloading the map due to many splits in the trail system.

This is a family-friendly loop that features the Sandhill trail near Dixie Lake. The trail is partly shaded, and it is recommended to bring sun protection. This is a multi-use trail that is shared by mountain bikers, horseback riders, and hikers. There are picnic tables at the trailhead for those who wish to relax and enjoy views of the lake.
