The beginning of the trail goes above a residential area for about 1/4 mile...don't let this deter you from continuing! This trail is very cool. Great views and other trails connect toward the top! Gorgeous rocks and mountains and flowers and cacti. Dogs can come on PART of the trail. You will run into a sign indicating that dogs are not allowed past that point.

Activities
Features
This is one of the best trails in Palm Springs! It can be a great workout, scenic, and a wonderful place to spot local flora and fauna. Bighorn sheep sightings are common, with lizards, roadrunners, and several interesting cacti also reported. There is minimal to no shade so be sure to wear plenty of sun protection. If parking near Tahquitz canyon, visitors can walk back to the parking area for approximately 2 miles on the road if hoping for a shorter route. There is also a great picnic...
