Coming out of the trail brings you along Alum Rock, and back to the trailhead. Some portions of the trails are shared with both bicycles and equestrians.

Watch out for soaring hang gliders, as you take in stunning views of the valley and the Bay Area. Bring water and sunscreen, as this hike can get hot. Connect the Agua Caliente trail to Monument Peak Trail, after summiting return via the Agua Caliente trail and Calera Creek Trail.

This loop trail requires an entry fee which is collected for vehicles at the entrance. There is an out and back option that takes the Agua Caliente Trail past several hang gliding launch locations. Although this trail can be steep in sections, it does offer great views of San Jose and the South Bay from the top. You can watch hang gliders taking off from their launch spots into the sky!
