Start by heading to Markum Woods, take a left, and enter the state park trail on the right. This trail is marked by an open gate and a sign marking the park boundary.

The majority of this route travels along a sandy trail, which passes by dunes and through scenic flatland ecosystems. The trail can become muddy during wet conditions and waterproof shoes are recommended.

This multi-use pedestrian pathway connects the communities of Sanford and Lake Monroe. Residents and visitors alike share many recreational opportunities along the shoreline of Lake Monroe. While there are few areas of shade to stop and relax, the majority of this pathway is exposed to the sun and it is advised to bring sun protection.

This route features a canopied trail starting on the north side of Gemini Springs Park. This route makes for a quick hike, but can easily be connected to several spur trails in the area for those wishing to extend their route and explore the viewpoints. There are both paved and unpaved surfaces along the trail and it is well-maintained by the park.
