This is a beautiful trail that travels alongside the Paluxy River and through a forested area. There are many different bird species to spot along the way. The highlight of this trail is the Main Track Site where the first sauropod dinosaur track was discovered. Overall, this is a great family-friendly hike.

The route has a decent amount of elevation gain along the way, and there are several rocky sections where it is advised to have sturdy footwear.

There is a memorial to the late Park Director, Billy Paul Baker, that rests at the top along with a stone bench. Be mindful of the trail surface as there are a couple of slick spots on the rock, especially after heavy rainfall.
