This is a scenic route that uses two different trails to form a loop in the beautiful desert area. When you reach the park entrance you will be on Old Tin Mine Trail Road. Be alert because not very far from there you will see the sign for The Maze Trail. Follow the Maze Trail which runs parallel with the Old Tin Mine Road. In about 2.3 miles, this trail merges with the Cardiac Hill Trail. Follow the Cardiac Hill Trail to the right.

The trail can be quite rocky in some sections, and portions of the trail are along gravel. There is little to no shade along the way, and bringing proper sun protection is advised. This trail is intended to be multi-use and is shared by mountain bikers and hikers. There is little elevation gain along the way and the route has rolling hills in some area.

This route leads to old tin mine ruins. From the trailhead, climb to the top of the concrete dam. Eventually, the trail will connect to a jeep road that travels north-west. Follow this road all the way to the junction and then turn south (left) for the south mine and smelter. Proceed straight ahead and curve north to the north mine.

This trail is intended to be multi-use and is shared by mountain bikers and hikers. The trail itself is relatively flat with a few rolling hills through a wide rocky terrain. The route is completely exposed to the sun and it is highly suggested to bring proper sun prtoection. There are stunning views of the Franklin Mountains the whole way.
