This paved multi-use trail offers great opportunities for walking, cycling, jogging, and commuting. The route includes a variety of landscapes, including open grasslands and wooded areas. Most of the way it is flat but there are some hilly areas at the Bernie Road trailhead and near the I-5 crossing. This hike is for those in Portland who would like to walk across the historic St. Johns bridge and see the lush woods of northern Forest Park. This loop is a great way to enjoy them both. It can be muddy in the winter with the rain, but for the most part trails are kept up well. There are lots of native elderberry and blackberry bushes along the trail.
