Burgess Park Trail is versatile and intriguing. With lots of different routes, it can be a quick and easy 3km or a challenging and rugged 8km. For the shorter route, go right at the entry pavilion and then go left at every subsequent junction. Each right turn makes the trail longer; since there are 5 or 6 junctions, there is a variety of trails to traverse.

Route runs from Oxford 48 road to Oxford 4 Road. It runs along the banks of the Thames River, passing the dam that forms the Pittock Reservoir. The route is wide an mostly paved, fit for biking. A couple branch trails along the way allow further exploration of the area and make for some nice viewpoints along the route.

This is a great trail for a casual hike, and is mostly easy aside from some stumps sticking up so pay attention and wear good footwear. The trail is easy to follow but not marked, so for new hikers, it may be a good idea to follow the verified AllTrails maps. Sections of this trail do sometimes have downed trees, which makes this a more thrilling experience for those looking for a true hike! The Nature Centre, donated by SC. Johnson and Son Ltd. of Brantford, is surrounded by 100-hectares of mature forests, fields and wetlands. Whiteman's Creek and Rest Acres Creek offer unique stream habitats for discovery and exploration, with lots of loops and circles for explorers of all ages to enjoy. Kids and birdwatchers will love the bountiful wildlife and insects to see all along the water.

This trail is full of beautiful sights, diverse wildlife activity, lots of shade from the sun and some unique bridges. It is great for kids and takes around an hour and a half at a toddler walking pace. It is suggested to head in a clockwise direction, as there isn't much room on the trail for two-way traffic. There is poison ivy along the trail, with warning signs posted.
