This is an incredibly scenic journey along the Perl Charles Memorial Trail. The beginning of this trail features a short uphill climb that joins the Perl Charles Memorial Trail (1A) at about 1 1/4 miles. The route follows switchbacks up the side of the mountain, and then down the other side to rejoin the 1A and the 302.

Nearly all trails here are clearly marked and maintained. Offered by the many divergences in the trails, there are a wide variety of paths to explore. There are numerous mountainous ascents and descents that offer a change of pace for bikers and hikers alike. Please be aware that dogs are not allowed on this or any other trails in the city of Phoenix when temperatures are greater than 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
