Boubias of Agia Pelagia - Stavros Cape Lighthouse and Agios Sostis chapel (Μπουμπιάς Αγίας Πελαγίας - Φάρος Ακρωτηρίου Σταυρού και Αγίος Σώστης) A circular hike of about 5 1/2 hours organized by the Mountaineering Club of Heraklion. There is no real trail only some goat paths in most of the track. So good hiking shoes are recommended, enough water as well. What makes the hike amazing is the fact of fantastic views all along it!

Timios Stavros (Stroumpoulas) Summit from the north (Κορυφή Τίμιος Σταυρός (Στρούμπουλας) από βορρά) Climb to the summit of Timios Stavros from the mountain Stroumpoulas to the west of the city of Heraklion. Kastrokefala Hill Loop - Keris Gorge (Γύρος Λόφου Καστροκεφάλας - Φαράγγι Κέρης) A beautiful route around the Kastrokefala hill east of the Heraklion city. The route starts from the middle of the northern slope, climbs west and then descends to Keris Gorge. There, it follows the gorge to the east, until its exit to the sea. There the route turns north, circling the hill and returning to the starting point.

Almiros Gorge (Φαράγγι Αλμυρού) The lovely course through the Almyros gorge starts from the dirt road, very close to the Almyros springs, which are located on the eastern edge of the Keris hill. The route follows the dirt road that enters the gorge, crossing it entirely. In the last part, the route climbs up the slope of the Keris hill and reaches the national road.

Voulismeno Aloni - Keris Forest (Βουλισμένο Αλώνι - Δάσος Κέρης) A nice route that starts from the karstic depression of Voulismeno Aloni and ascends the dirt road to the hill of Keris, where extensive reforestations has been carried out. The area is ideal for family excursions and cycling trips. The view to the Almyros gorge and springs, the Ammoudara beach and the city of Heraklion is panoramic and striking.
