An enjoyable family friendly trail along the eastern shores of the Swan River, located in north east Perth, Western Australia. This out and back route begins and ends from the parking area at the end of First Avenue in the suburb of Woodbridge, not too far up from the train station. The trail itself is a well formed paved footpath or a gravel path that is closer to the river. It is relatively flat but doesn't feature much shade so don't forget sun protection!

This is an ideal route for mountain bikers encompassing mixed terrain of paved roads, shared paths and fire trail. Starting on the Railway Reserves Heritage Trail, it makes its way out of the suburbs and in to the Beelu National Park. Coasting along on a reasonably flat track with a gradual climb beside the Helena River .It then ascends out of the valley and gently descends as it links back up with the Heritage Trail, leading you back to the start of the trail.

The Railway Reserves Heritage Trail is a scenic rail trail that follows the old Eastern Railway through the beautiful Perth Hills. The old railway was a critical piece of infrastructure that connected towns and made goods transportation and people movement possible in and around Mundaring Shire in the late 1800s. The railway line closed in 1966 but there are still remnants of its existence along the trail. Most notably the wide dirt trails themselves as well as bridges and old platforms....

Also known as The Heritage Rail Trail or Reserves Heritage Trail. A scenic ride in the Perth Hills with gentle gradients on 90% wide old railway track, 10% road. There is plenty to see and do along this loop. This old railway track provides a long circular loop in the Perth Hills. The surface is good and the gradients easy.
