This route follows along the outside edge of Lake of the Isles, named for the islands that sit in the middle of the lake. The whole walk mapped here takes place within the Minneapolis Chain of Lakes Park. In addition to the hiking/walking/running path, cyclists can do a loop around the lake as well. There are facilities throughout the park.

This route mapped here is a walk through the Thomas Sadler Roberts Bird Sanctuary, one of the hidden gems within the Minneapolis Chain of Lakes Park area. Located on the north side of Lake Harriet, this bird sanctuary is a great place for an easy stroll. Visitors should also make a stop at Lyndale Park Rose Garden and the Peace Garden!
