This hike in the national forest of Bastard is located in the north of the agglomeration of Pau (Pyrénées-Atlantiques), at the gates of the city. The starting point is near the Pont-Long racecourse. Bastard forest is one of the main biodiversity reservoirs in the area. Covering an area of 300 hectares, it is a space perfectly suited to hiking, running, cycling ... You will also come across the Chemin de Saint-Jacques de Compostelle - Voie d ' Arles (or GR®653).

This hike starts east of Parc Beaumont. The route crosses the Ousse and passes through Bizanos, the Château de Franqueville, Aressy and Lac d'Aressy, among others, after crossing Le Lagoin. The route continues along the Gave de Pau and through Meillon, before returning to the starting point. This route offers a magnificent view of the Pyrenees chain on a clear day.

This bike ride will allow you to discover Pau "from below" on the banks of the Gave, with a beautiful view of the castle almost all along the route. You will then go up to admire the magnificent view from the Boulevard des Pyrénées (and its air of the Promenade des Anglais). Boulevard des Pyrénées then continues to the gates of Beaumont Park where you will reach the starting point.
