This hill is one of the best known "island hills" of Santiago. The west side is much less traveled so it is a great escape for running or walking in the center of the big city. From the summit there is a panoramic view of all of Greater Santiago and the Cordilllera de Los Andes. The trail begins very close to Plaza Conejitos in La Dehesa. There is little vegetation in the area and the paths are easy to follow. The trail climbs up the hill to the summit. The descent is quite steep so be careful.

This new urban park offers a tour with viewpoints to different parts of the foothills of Greater Santiago. You can see birds such as: the condor, the Moorish eagle and the loica among others. Just opened in 2021, it has excellent signage and well-maintained trails. On the steeper sections, there are wooden steps, making it easier for children to climb up and down. This trail offers a relaxed walk for all ages inside the Cerro del Medio Park. It runs parallel to the Estero Las Hualtatas where there are native species of trees such as colligauyes and quillayes among others. The route is relatively flat the entire way. This new urban park is administered by the Municipality of Lo Barnechea and admission is free. Hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
