Thompson's Bay is the place to get away from crowds. The beach, as well as the sea, are both lovely and clean, One is sheltered from the wind by the cliffs on either side of the Bay, It is truly a beautiful spot. Look for the 'Hole in the Wall.' An opening in the rocks. There is high rock just across the bay worth looking at as it has good history, the Zulu Warriors used to push there enemies off the rocks here.

This trail winds along the beach from Ballito North to Salt Rock and is not particularly long, but it offers plenty of breath-taking views and gorgeous photo backdrops along the way. Along the way, you will come across incredible rock formations and platforms, gorgeous stretches of white sands and blue waters, and tidal pools that are irresistible after a walk in the hot South African sunshine.

The Tamboti trail starts and ends at the Fish Eagle Community Centre. This is the “grassland” and “sea view” route and passes a number of smaller dams as well as the Fish Eagle Dam. It rises sharply, traversing open grassland. A bench at the top of the hill affords you time to catch your breath and enjoy some of the best sea views on the Estate. Please note this is a private estate.

The Mfuleni Trail is the central trail to which all other trails connect. It follows a circular route starting and ending at the Heron Community Centre. The Mfuleni is primarily a Riverine Forest walk, fringing the two largest dams on Simbithi, the Heron and Fish Eagle Dams. You will also walk through patches of open grassland. As it encompasses more than one ecosystem, it supports a wide variety of wildlife and birds. Please note this is a private estate.
