The Vedder River is a beautiful place to spend an afternoon. The trail is well maintained and there is often lots of wildlife to view, including herons. It can get a bit hot in the sun while walking the dyke but it's nice and cool near the trees and the river. Some of the trails are intentionally narrow and a bit overgrown. Portions of the trail also include interpretive signage describing the different vegetation in the area.

Despite the short length, this route up to Raven's Bluff should not be underestimated. After the first kilometre there are a lot of technical areas that are steep on both the ascent and descent. Bringing footwear that you know can handle slippery or uneven terrain is recommended. There can be a lot of mosquitoes in this area, so bringing insect repellent can make for a more pleasant journey.

The trail to Chadsey Lake is all on a decline so be prepared for an incline on the way back! The trail is under a forested canopy with a water fall feature about halfway through. It opens out to a small secluded lake that's great for a dip. The loop around the lake is still well marked but a bit overgrown. Make sure to come prepared with bug spray!
