The Littlewood loop trail takes you through a mixed conifer and broadleaf woodland. It starts and ends at the car park. The broadleaf trees along the route are a mix of native trees including Oak, Ash Alder, exotics Sycamore, Beech, and Horse Chestnut. The understory is made up of Hazel, Rowan, Guelder Rose, Birch, Holly, Hawthorn, Blackthorn, and Elm. Along the route, you will pass two further display boards highlighting the diversity of the Flora and Fauna that can be seen in the woodland.

* Please note that Townley Hall is currently closed to the public. Come to Townley Hall for a relaxing woodland experience. It's a lovely place for families to spend some time with nature. There is some uphill walking involved, but with the right footwear, it is quite safe and doable. You'll enjoy fabulous views over the River Boyne. Note: There are MTB trails in this area. Walkers and hikers, please use caution and do not enter the MTB areas. This trail takes you alongside the river Boyne and nearby the historic Battle of the Boyne site. There is a nice mix of woodlands and open terrain to explore. It's an easy-going route that is suitable for most abilities, so a wonderful opportunity to get outdoors.
