This segment is rather flat and the main interest is represented by the numerous historical and religious buildings that meet along the route: the walls and the amphitheater of Lucca, the Pieve di Capannori, the Badia di Pozzeveri, the church of S. Jacopo and the historic center of Altopascio. From Altopascio the cycle path follows the pedestrian one up to Galleno, and then departs from it up to San Miniato. A pleasant circular walk that can be done on foot or by bicycle, starting from the parking lot in Piazza del Collegio. The route starts on the city walls of Lucca and then reaches the path on the south side of the river. This path consists of cut grass, then crosses the bridge and passes the gravel bike / walk path. There is no real view of the river, except at the bridges. At each bridge there are paths that lead down to the water.

This is an asphalted path along the historic walls of Lucca. There are plenty of opportunities to sit on benches or under large growing trees for breaks. There are also many ramps to go sightseeing if you want to leave the walls for a while and explore the center. The start of the route is at Baluardo Santa Maria where the Antico Caffè delle Mura is also located.
