The circuit of La Bougraie will make you discover the pretty little town of Ménil, located on the edge of the Mayenne river, which you will follow by passing by a towpath. This hike will take you through beautiful countryside and hamlets in the historic province of Anjou. You will also pass in front of the Bavouze lock.

This route runs along the Mayenne river by the towpath, passes along the edge of the Valles forest, and crosses the towns of Château-Gontier and Saint-Fort. In Ménil, you will find a playground and picnic tables by the water.

Pleasant hike along the Mayenne river, ideal to enjoy the freshness of the river on sunny days! Note that this is one of the only parts of the river where you can hike on both banks. You can also enjoy beautiful views of the Château de la Haute Roche and the Château de la Porte. Please note that this circuit is only possible on the opening dates of the Ménil campsite, whose staff manages the crossing of the Mayenne by ferry.
