In the initial section of the route cross a lovely paved track along the ancient Via Francigena. Past the area of Cerbaie, wild and deserted. This path follows the ancient Via Cassia - Clodia traveled for more than two thousand years, and is made up of 6 Stages and this is Stage 4 which starts from Pescia and arrives in Lucca. The path in the first half is hilly and winds along ancient roads, while in the second it is flat and crosses the Lucca plain, touching numerous ancient churches and industrial archeology artifacts. A pleasant walk that touches three fantastic villages, Buggiano, Massa and Cozzile, crossing the Tuscan countryside between vineyards and olive groves. The route starts from the Buggiano and Colle Cemetery and follows the provincial road to the Sorgente del Camposanto where you take Via della Polveriera and proceed clockwise.
