This is a local favorite and a part of the Adirondack Fire tower Challenge. The hike to the summit is just shy of a mile and the tower provides excellent views. Previously there was a trail beginning from Schoolhouse Rd, this trail is now closed. Hikers should begin near Green Lake North Shore Road at the Kane Mountain Trailhead.

Kane Mountain, a part of the Adirondack Fire Tower Challenge, offers great views and a nice hike by at least two approaches - one is the East trail which is about 1.7 miles RT and the other is about 2 miles RT - both are moderate hikes. The route shown here combines both trails creating a loop starting from the Kane Mountain Trailhead.

This short hike leads to the scenic shores of Nine Corner Lake. In the summer months this is the perfect hike on a hot day so you can cool off in the lake. The trail has exposed roots and is rocky in spots, so some hikers may want to use trekking poles. Anglers should be familiar with NY fishing rules.
