This hiking route starting from the Ar Goat car park will make you discover the banks of the Blavet. The Blavet, ar Blavezh in Breton, means “gushing water, running water”. The path follows the banks of the river and Lake Guerlédan in the undergrowth. It follows the towpath along the Nantes to Brest Canal and crosses the Blavet to the south of the Guerlédan Dam. The route makes a loop in the forest before retracing your steps to Ar Goat.

The Bois de Caurel overlooks the shores of Lake Guerlédan and offers spectacular landscapes to everyone. Both in the forest and then along the shores of the lake, the trail ends up offering you a panoramic view of the Quénécan forest and the beauty of Lake Guéridan. Because they were marked by the extraction of slate during the 19th century, the slopes of the wood present excavations and are covered with spoil.
