Route on foot or by bike from the hamlet of Taxo d'Avall to the magnificent sandy beach of the seaside resort of Argelès, on the Côte Vermeille, in the Pyrénées-Orientales department. From the beach, you will have beautiful views of the Gulf of Lion, the Albères massif and the peaks of the Pyrénées-Orientales.

This beautiful hike begins in the parking lot of the magnificent Château de Valmy, a beautiful Art Nouveau building on the heights of Argelès-sur-Mer, in the Pyrénées-Orientales department. Along the way, you will pass by the Romanesque church of Saint-Laurent-du-Mont, which served as a shelter for Spanish refugees fleeing the war, and you will pass by several dolmens.

This sporty hike starts from the Château de Valmy and takes you to the Pic de Sailfort, on the border with Spain. When you reach the peak, you will have a superb view of the Catalan Pyrenees. You will also pass by the Tour de la Massane, where in clear weather you will have a beautiful view of the Côte Vermeille.

Then descend to La Jonquera where you take the Cantallops road and enter the quiet countryside. Then you take the small roads towards Peralada.
