It is excellent for mountain biking. This trail is considered moderately difficult because it covers 28 kilometers from start to finish. Make sure to protect yourself from the sun's rays and stay well hydrated.

Then you enter the Canal de los Piratas, a scenic waterway of notoriety as a pirate route between said lake and the Hondo River. The water here is shallow and a brilliantly beautiful blue that it's hard to believe nature created it.

This short and light route takes you from the zocalo of Bacalar through its colorful streets to the park or Natural Protected Area that is located on the shores of the Bacalar lagoon. Here is an ecological pool where you can swim. You have to go through a path surrounded by mangroves and you arrive at a beach where there are benches, a palapa, and grass.

You could stop at a local food or craft stall. When you're ready, continue south, past the Bacalar Municipal Palace, to the park with beautiful views of the pier and the Laguna de Siete Colores, with its famously colorful waters.
