Fort d'Illange is a building built in 1903 on the wooded hill of Illange near Thionville in the Moselle department. It was built between 1904 and 1910 on a hill. It can accommodate 1,177 men. Its mission is to protect the outlets of the left bank of the Moselle, in particular the railways coming from Luxembourg and Meurthe et Moselle, and to prohibit their passage.
