This trail hollows Grimes Creek upstream passing some beautiful waterfalls along the way. The route walks along the stream which may be higher or lower depending on the season and recent rain. You will probably get your feet wet, so bringing a dry pair of socks to change into afterward is nice. Shoes with good traction are recommended.
Activities
Features
This loop begins with a steep climb for about half a mile before leveling off. There is a great overlook along the way to stop at and catch your breath. After this, the trail will cross a seasonal stream before reaching a stretch of trail with more great views. After one more small climb, the trail heads downhill toward the parking area.
Activities
Features
This trail follows along the riverbed passing by a series of small waterfalls along the way. At a point the trail climbs up rocky slabs and goes across the creek, so be prepared to get your feet wet. In the springtime, the creek is known to be high from melting snow and rain and it is not advised to try and cross it.
Activities
Features
Punch Bowl road runs between Whites Hollow Road and the junction with the Finger Lakes/North Country Trail. It is a mostly flat and wide gravel road running through the forest. It does not have any notable landmarks along the way, but it is a nice option if you're looking to get some fresh air and avoid the crowds around the gorge.
Activities
Features
The route runs in one direction - you can take West Rim trail from the main parking lot to the head of the Gorge trail to make it a loop.
