The Pine Knot Trail in San Bernardino National Forest starts at the Aspen Glen Picnic Area and features oaks, pines, wildflowers, and spectacular views of Big Bear Lake. The Castle Rock Trail is one of the most popular trails in the San Bernardino National Forest. The trailhead is on State Highway 18 and close to Big Bear Lake Village. This is a shorter trail, however, it is a steep climb with a lot of elevation gain and some loose rock. There are beautiful views of the lake and lots of pine trees along the trail. It is a very popular trail and the parking lot can get busy later in the day.
